Historical OverviewFlower Property Tax Consultants evolved from the efforts and talents of Robert J. Flower. In 1974, after being established in Real Estate for 8 years, Mr. Flower was appointed to The City of Yonkers, New York Assessment Review Board where he served as Chairman for four years. This influence and experience was to be invaluable in dealing with and comprehending the mechanics of municipal assessing. In 1977, the company achieved its first Fortune 500 Property Tax Consultancy with Chrysler Motors. This was shortly followed by its second with Ford Leasing Development Company in 1979. From 1974 to present, the company has also been retained by municipalities such as Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, White Plains, Pelham, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Westchester and Putnam Counties. Moreover, during this time, the firm had numerous graduates from its ranks depart for assessor positions in major municipalities. In 1982, The Bank of New York retained the company to conduct property tax services for its many branches in various parts of New York State. Following this successful endeavor, the company assisted in the formation of an internal department to monitor property taxes for its branches. In 1984, C.V.S. Stores retained the company for tax analysis purposes throughout New York & New Jersey. Today, the firm is one of the best known and highly respected in the field, enjoying write ups in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Gannett Newspapers and others, for its creativity and effectiveness.
